The British College Celebrates 11th Graduation Ceremony Honouring Over 600 Graduates

Kathmandu, 7 November 2025 — The British College (TBC) hosted its 11th Graduation Ceremony at The Soaltee, Kathmandu. The event recognised and rewarded the hard work, dedication, and success of students who have completed their degree programmes this year, receiving awards from Leeds Beckett University (LBU), the University of the West of England (UWE), and Keele University.

This year, The British College celebrated a record-breaking 639 graduates from its undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, alongside 125 graduates from The British Model College. Families, friends, and faculty joined the celebrations, making it one of the most memorable occasions in the college’s history.

The day was divided into two ceremonies, with students from the School of Business (BBA, MBA, HM, and EMBA programmes) graduating in the morning, and those from the School of IT (BSc (Hons) Computing, BSc (Hons) Cyber Security & Digital Forensics, MSc IT, and MSc Advanced Computer Science) along with Cambridge A-Level students graduating in the afternoon. The impressive size of this year’s graduating class reflected the continued growth, success, and reputation of The British College as one of Nepal’s leading higher education institutions.

The ceremony was attended by graduates, proud families, faculty members, and distinguished guests, including:

Rajen Kandel, Group CEO, British Education Group; Mahendra Kandel, Executive Director, The British College; His Excellency Dr Luke Beaumont, Deputy British Ambassador; Tim Gocher OBE DL, CEO, Dolma Fund Management; Dr Declan P. Bannon, Academic Dean, The British College; Michael Rutland OBE, Advisor to TBC; Paul Cleves, Advisor to TBC; Dave Chesley, Senior Lecturer and Link Tutor, Leeds Beckett University; and Mr John Park, Advisor to TBC and Former Head of Product Management at Google.

The event commenced with the traditional lighting of the Panas by Mr Rajen Kandel — a symbolic gesture of hope and enlightenment — followed by inspiring addresses delivered by Rajen Kandel, Dr Luke Beaumont, Tim Gocher, Dr Declan P. Bannon, Paul Cleves, Michael Rutland, Dave Chesley, and John Park. Each speaker encouraged graduates to embrace their global opportunities with courage, compassion, and integrity.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr Rajen Kandel, Group CEO of the British Education Group, said:

“This ceremony is not just a celebration of academic success but a reminder of what determination and global education can achieve together. Our graduates are stepping into the world as confident, capable, and compassionate leaders who will make a difference both in Nepal and beyond.”

Speeches by Dr Declan P. Bannon, Academic Dean of The British College, and student representatives from each programme added a personal touch, celebrating the dedication and achievements that led to this moment.

Outstanding students were recognised with Excellence Awards, honouring their academic performance, leadership, and contribution to college life.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks from Mr Mahendra Kandel, Executive Director of The British College, followed by photo sessions, a celebratory meal, and shared moments of pride and reflection. The College extends heartfelt congratulations to the Class of 2025, wishing every graduate continued success in their future endeavours.
