D.A.V. College aims for the holistic development of its' students and recently completed 14 days Public Speaking and Emcee Training for BBS 1st Year students. More than 50 students went through an intensive training by Ms. Malvika Subba.

The workshop is part of a series of Professional Development Programs at D.A.V. Participants sharpen their communication skills and boost their level of confidence in their presentation and public speaking ability through such programs.

The Grand Finale for the training was held on July 18, 2018. Students were divided into groups of six and were assigned to re-enact different events- ranging from beauty pageant to product launch- as part of the finale.


The competition formally started in the presence of the Chief Guest (Senior Media Personality, CEO of FACELIFT) Mr. Prabhat Rimal and Professional Trainer Ms. Malvika Subba who were also the judges for the event. The participants were judged on the basis of speaking, pronunciation, body-language, confidence and group evaluation on the basis of team co-ordination.

The award categories included- Best TVC awarded to Niroj Dhimal, Roshni Udas, Nikesh Dangol and Prathana Sen Dangol, best improved award to Melina Rai, best vlog to Rubin Awale and best news reader to Subarna Dhakal. Also, Deepika Shrestha, Simon Tamang, Dipesh Shrestha, Lidhiya Rai, Martha Ghole and Sayara Singh were awarded the best group. The winners were Martha Ghole and Sayara Singh based on individual evaluation, Prathana Sen Dangol and Jyoti Thapa as first runner-up and second runner-up were Shristi Maharjan and Anisha Shrivastava.

The event came to an end with a congratulations note to the winners and participants by the judges and a certificate of appreciation to all the participants.
