The Department of Transport Management (DoTM) of the Government of Nepal under 
Ministry of Labor, Employment and Transport, has implemented an online system i.e. Electronic Driving License (EDL) for the new license application, new category request, license copy request, license tracking, renewal, and revenue payment of driver's licenses from 1st Shrawan, 2083 (17 July 2026).  This eliminates the inconvenience of needing to visit the office for license applications, renewals, and revenue payments.

The online service for new application and renewal of Driving License form has been developed, and an online revenue payment system has been implemented. A National ID (NID) has been made compulsory for all driving licence services. By scanning the QR code on their national identity card or the Citizen App, service beneficiaries will be able to instantly fill out the application form with their personal information.

Depending on the province, the department has designated various web portals for online services of driving license for new application, renewal and revenue payment. By clicking on the appropriate link, service receivers from the corresponding provinces can submit an application.
