TU Part Time Teachers today locked Prof Guna Nidhi Neupane, Rector, Tribhuvan University (TU) today from 2:00 p m for not sending circular to the constituent campuses to begin the process to appointing part time teachers on contract basis.

Din Dayal Regmi, a member of TU Part Time Teachers Association today said that earlier they had reached agreement to begin the process of selecting eligible candidates among part time teachers to appoint them on contract basis. However, TU failed to begin the process even after more than a month therefore they were force to lock him inside his office to pressure the TU administration to abide by the agreement.

He said, “After protest for long time, TU had reached agreement on appointing them on contract basis through internal competition, but the administration has not yet sent a circular to the constituent campuses, ignoring the mandate of our protest in the past.”

He said that there were more than 1,000 part time teachers in 60 constituent campuses.

According to part time teachers, the Vice Chancellor and the registrar were out of the office therefore they locked only Neupane.Meanwhile, Neupane refused to talk on the issue.
