Khalanga: A sixteen-year-old student, who had come to attend the SLC examinations here, was gang raped.

Police have arrested two locals on the charge of raping the girl student, who was appearing in the SLC examinations from the Patan examination centre in Baitedi.

Those arrested are proprietor of local Chandani Photo Studio, Amar Awathi and proprietor of Jagannath Book Store, Sagar Bhatta.

Investigation has begun over the incident of rape that took place on Thursday night, said Deputy Superintendent of Police in Baitedi, Bishnu Bahadur Karki.A medical examination report of the victim is to be received from the District Hospital today.

A police team has also been sent to the site for further investigation, DSP Karki said.The incident came to light only on Friday after the girl was found not to be normal, the victim's relatives said. She was staying at her relatives' house for the examinations.

Meanwhile, a team of the National Human Rights Commission in the region met the victim and her relatives.
