The academic calendar of grade XI and XII for the academic year 2016/17 was made public two days ago by the Higher Secondary Education Board.

According to the new calendar, plus-two colleges and higher secondary schools must complete the admission process of grade XI by July 30, and begin classes by July 31 this year.

The registration process for the same grade must be completed by mid-September.

The same calendar states that the admission process of grade XII should be completed by July 16, and classes should begin by July 17.

Examinations for grade XII have been scheduled for the last week of April, 2017.

For grade XI, it has been scheduled for the second week of May, 2017.

HSEB has also made a provision of needs-based and merit-based scholarships.

Examination Controller at HSEB Santosh Aryal said that students can submit applications for scholarship from 11 regional offices across the country. He added that the written test for scholarship will to be held on July 16 this year.

“The evaluation for students deserving of the scholarship will give 70 per cent weightage to the written test and 30 per cent weightage to SLC scores. Students who score top marks will be granted scholarships,” he said.
