The Tribhuwan University, Teaching Hospital Doctors Teachers Association honored former Vice-chancellors, Deans and senior doctors on the occasion of Guru Purnima on Friday.

Organising a felicitation programme, the Association honored former Vice-chancellors, Mahesh Prasad Upadhyay, Kedar Bhakta Mathema, Kamal Krishna Joshi, Govinda Prasad Sharma, Nabin Prakash Jung Shah, Madhav Sharma and former Deans and Professors.

On the occasion, Chairperson of the Association, Dr. Modnath Marhathha said it is the fresh start of the culture of revering seniors on the occasion of Guru Poornima, urging the sides concerned to not erode the Institute of Medicines (IOM) on the basis of political partition.

Protesting the process of nominating office-bearers based on political recommendation and shares, the Association has made public the Declaration of Doctors.

The Association has demanded that office-bearers be nominated on the basis of seniority.

The office-bearers nominated on the basis of recommendation are mostly inclined to individual rather than to institute, he complained, adding such trends have tarnished the image of institution.
