All Nepal National Free Students Union-Revolutionary (ANNFSU-R) has opposed the decision of taking the Tribhuvan University's Masters level programme into the semester system.

General Secretary of the Union, Ratna Dhakal has urged the University to launch the semester system only after running an Open University in the country.

The programme will be expensive and most of the poor and underprivileged students will therefore be unable to join regular classes, Dhakal added.

Urging the University to with draw the decision, the Union has also said that the TU affiliated campuses should not be declared autonomous due to the donors' pressure, free students union election should be conducted soon and problems facing the Purbanchal University (PU) including that of financial irregularities should be resolved at the earliest.
