IB is the acronym for the International Baccalaureate, an internationally recognised course. International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO), is an international educational foundation headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland. The International Baccalaureate (IB) offers four distinct educational programs: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), the Diploma Programme (DP), and the Career-related Programme (CP).

The International Baccalaureate (IB) offers a continuum of international education.In order to teach IB programmes, schools must be authorized. Every school authorized to offer IB programmes is known as an IB World School.

IB Primary Years Programme (PYP)
The IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) for children aged 3 - 12 nurtures and develops young students as caring, active participants in a lifelong journey of learning. The PYP offers an inquiry-based, transdisciplinary curriculum framework that builds conceptual understanding.The PYP curriculum framework begins with the premise that students are agents of their own learning and partners in the learning process. It prioritizes people and their relationships to build a strong learning community.

IB Middle Years Programme (MYP)
The International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme (MYP) emphasizes intellectual challenge. It encourages students aged 11 to 16 to make practical connections between their studies and the real world, preparing them for success in further study and in life. The programme empowers students to inquire into a wide range of issues and ideas of significance locally, nationally and globally. The result is young people who are creative, critical and reflective thinkers.

International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP)
The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP), is a globally recognized high school educational program for students typically aged 16-19, equivalent to grades 11 and 12.

The IBDP Programme, is a two-year course now offered in Nepal by various IB schools for students who have finished the 10th grade and are searching for higher education alternatives following SEEs. The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, a viable alternative to A Level, +2 and CBSE, has been available at several IB schools since 2009.

The IB diploma has been designed for students who want to excel in their chosen fields and are looking for a course structure and design that is significantly different from programs such as the GCE Cambridge A Level or +2. While the degree is certainly more expensive than other high-school diplomas available in the country, its worldwide credibility and all-inclusive curriculum make it worthwhile for most. Through intercultural understanding and respect, the International Baccalaureate seeks to educate enquiring, intelligent, and compassionate young people who will contribute to the creation of a better and more peaceful world. The IB diploma curriculum contains six subject groups and three core components. Students select six subjects to study from the subject groups. Normally three subjects are studied at a higher level (240 teaching hours per subject), and three are studied at the standard level (150 teaching hours per subject).

Career-related Programme (CP)
The Career-related Programme flexible educational framework allows schools to meet the needs, backgrounds and contexts of students. CP students engage with a rigorous study programme that genuinely interests them while gaining transferable and lifelong skills. The CP builds on earlier knowledge gained in the Middle Years Programme and integrates components of the Diploma Programme, which provides the theoretical foundation and academics.
