Course Description:

The Tribhuvan University Bachelor of Information Technology Management (BITM), previously known as the Bachelor of Information Management (BIM), is a four-year (eight-semester) course which  uniquely blends the disciplines of Information Technology (IT) and Management, aiming to develop graduates who are both technically proficient and managerially competent. This dual focus ensures that students not only gain technical proficiency in areas such as programming, database management, system analysis, and software development but also develop strong managerial and analytical skills in business communication, marketing, organizational behavior, and strategic management.

The rigorous syllabus is designed to equip you with practical skills through interactive learning, hands-on projects, and real-world applications.

BITM program focuses on developing proficiency in crucial areas such as information systems, programming, database management, and strategic IT management. You will gain an in-depth understanding of information systems and their applications in organizations, enabling you to develop and manage effective IT solutions. The program also integrates project management principles, helping you plan, execute, and control IT projects efficiently.

The objectives of the Bachelor of Information mgmt, or BITM, course affiliated with Tribhuvan University for students are as follows:
- To make IT professionals efficient in the use of computers and computational techniques, develop helpful information systems, and solve real-life problems in organizations.
- To enhance skills in understanding the latest tendencies in software development and database systems.
- To develop the ability to manage information in different organizations.
- Imparting professional training by integrating IT and management skills.
- Help prepare the foundation for postgraduate-level study both within and outside the country.

Eligibility
Eligibility for Admission in Bachelor of Information Technology Management (BITM)
- Successfully completed twelve-year schooling or its equivalent from any university, board or institution recognized by Tribhuvan University.
- Minimum D+ grade in each subject of grade 11 and 12 with CGPA 1.80 or more / Secured at least second division in the 10+2, PCL, or equivalent program
- Complied with all the application procedures.

Eligible applicants are required to appear in the entrance test commonly known as the Central Management Admission Test (CMAT) conducted by the Faculty of Management.  There shall be altogether one hundred (100) objective questions in the CMAT containing twenty (25) questions in each section with a total weight of 100 marks. Students must secure a minimum of 40% in the CMAT in order to qualify for the interview.

The BITM program requires the students to study a total of 126 credit hours.
1. Management Courses - 30 Cr
2. Analytical and Support Courses - 18 Cr
3 Information Technology and Computing Courses- 66 Cr
4. Elective Courses - 06 Cr
5. Project - 03 Cr
6. Internship - 03 Cr
Total : 126 Cr
