The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) measures the language proficiency (a high degree of skill) of people who want to study or work where English is used as a language of communication. IELTS assesses a test taker’s English language proficiency across four skills: Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking. IELTS is one of the major English-language tests in the world.

An IELTS result or Test Report Form is issued to all test takers with a score from "band 1" ("non-user") to "band 9" ("expert user"). The higher you can score in your IELTS, reflects a better understanding and ability to communicate in English.
