KUSOED Announces Admission for MPhil, and PhD Programs for 2026 Feb Intake
Kathmandu University School of Education (KUSOED) announces new admissions for the 2026 Batch for the M. Phil and PhD in Education Programs for the February 2026 Intake. Those who are waiting for their Master's degree results can also apply.
Programs: MPhil, Specializations: Development Studies
- Entry Requirements A Master’s degree or equivalent in any discipline from a recognized institution with a minimum of 50% score in aggregate or CGPA of 3.0 out of 4.
Programs: MPhil, Specializations: Educational Leadership
- Entry Requirements : A Master’s degree or equivalent in any discipline from a recognized institution with a minimum of 50% score in aggregate or CGPA of 3.0 out of 4.
Programs: MPhil, Specializations: English Language Education
- Entry Requirements : A Master’s degree or equivalent in ELT/English Language Education/English Literature/English Linguistics with a minimum of 50% score in aggregate or CGPA of 3.0 out of 4.
Programs: MPhil, Specializations: STEAM Education
- Entry Requirements : A Master’s degree or equivalent in any discipline from a recognized institution with a minimum of 50% score in aggregate or CGPA of 3.0 out of 4.
Programs: MPhil, Specializations: Early Childhood Development
- Entry Requirements :A Master’s degree or equivalent in discipline relevant to Early Childhood Development (or those without having background are required to complete at least 6 credits) from a recognized institution with a minimum of 50% score in aggregate or CGPA of 3.0 out of 4.
Programs: MPhil, Specializations: School Counseling and Wellbeing
- Entry Requirements : A Master’s degree or equivalent in discipline relevant to School Counselling and Wellbeing (or those without having the background are required to complete at least 9 credits in the area of School Counselling and Wellbeing) from a recognized institution with a minimum of 50% score in aggregate or CGPA of 3.0 out of 4.
Programs: PhD Programs
- 17 years of formal education
- A minimum of 60% score in aggregate or CGPA 3 out of 4 in the last degree in related fields.
- Applicants are required to submit their research proposal along with the application.
- An MPhil degree and publications of research articles are preferred.

- Written Test (Online): December 26, 2025 (Time: 12:30 PM)
- Interview (Online): December 27, 2025 (Time: 12:00 PM Onwards)
- Admission Due Date: January 15, 2026
- Orientation: By February 6, 2026 (Time 5: 30 PM)
- Sessions Start on: February 7, 2026
Notes:
- MPhil programs run in blended mode with face-to-face and online arrangements. Online classes take place from 5.30 to 8.30 PM NPT. Face-to-face classes shall be run during the daytime.
- As PhD applicants need to go through a specific process, they are required to contact the relevant departments before submitting their applications.
- Applicants waiting for the results of their last degree can also apply. In case someone cannot complete their last degree within one month of the beginning of the classes, they need to withdraw, and fees paid will be partially reimbursed as per KU rules.
