The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) will be in charge of administering the scholarship selection test for Grade XI students in schools under its jurisdiction. Beginning with the next fiscal year 2080/81, the KMC will hold an examination for scholarships offered by private schools in the city.

According to Mayor Balendra Shah, scholarships will be awarded based on merit, with a preference for students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, intelligent students from remote areas, and tribal students enrolled in public schools.

"As stated in the Kathmandu Metropolitan City Education Act 2075 and Education Regulations 2074, the Kathmandu Metropolitan City will conduct the examination for student selection for scholarships provided by private schools for Grade XI students under the Kathmandu Metropolitan City, starting from the academic session 2080/81," he stated.
