Course Description:
The Bachelor of Social Sciences (BoSS) from Kathmandu University is a multidisciplinary undergraduate program that integrates Sociology, Anthropology, Cultural Studies, Political Science, and Psychology with Public Policy and rigorous research training. It equips students with conceptual frameworks and analytical tools to interpret how individuals, communities, institutions, and states interact, and how culture, power, identity, and resources shape social life.
Applied learning is prioritized through case studies, fieldwork where feasible, community engagement, and problem-based projects that connect classroom concepts to real-world policy and social challenges. Graduates are prepared for careers in public policy, social research, NGOs and INGOs, community development, media and communications, and human resources, or to pursue advanced study in the social sciences. By combining interdisciplinary breadth with methodological rigor and local relevance, BoSS enables students to understand and navigate the dynamics of contemporary Nepalese and global societies.
