Course Description:

The Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) is a four-and-a-half-year integrated program followed by one year of mandatory internship training at Tribhuvan University. In Nepal, eight medical colleges affiliated with Tribhuvan University offer the MBBS program.

After earning the MBBS degree. One moves on to become a physician and can practice as a doctor anywhere in the country. The career is emotionally and intellectually rewarding.

Admission info

Eligibility
- Must have studied Physics, Chemistry and Biology from a recognized educational institution and passed with a minimum of 50 percent or 2.4 CGPA in the proficiency certificate level or Grade 12 Science group.
or
- Students from A-level or other similar programs with different grading systems should have studied Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects and passed with a minimum of 50 percent or 2.4 CGPA.
or
- Proficiency Certificate or Diploma in Health Science (General Medicine or Medical Lab Technology or Ophthalmic Science or Dental Science or Pharmacy or Radiography or Ayurveda or Physiotherapy) with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and passed in Physics, Chemistry and Biology from the National Examination Board Must have obtained at least 50% or 2.4 CGPA marks and have obtained the equivalence of Grade 12th Science group and should be registered in the respective council.

Syllabus

The first two academic years focus on basic medical science with interdepartmental integration as well as clinical and community correlation.

The core curriculum for the MBBS program shall be composed of Basic Medical Sciences (Human Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Pathology, and Pharmacology), Community Medicine/Community Health Sciences, Forensic Medicine, Internal Medicine, General Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics, Orthopedics, Psychiatry, Dermatology, Ophthalmology, Otorhinolaryngology, Anesthesiology, Radiodiagnosis, Dental Surgery, Emergency, and General Practice.
