Course Description:

The B.D.S programme consists of four & half years of full time study with one year of compulsory rotating internship.The programme has three major components.

Integrated basic medical science
Clinical Medical Science
Clinical Dental Science

Students will also learn the dental Material Science Community Dentistry and pre-clinical laboratory techniques during first two years of the programme.In the third year and fourth year,students will be exposed to the clinical dentistry itself, which deals with various dental health problems from the essential perspective.Student will learn the essential knowledge, skills and techniques necessary for the practice of dentistry.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR ADMISSION:-

AGE: Candidate's age must be minimum of 17 years and maximum of 25 years.

QUALIFICATION:-

Intermediate in Science or equivalent qualification from universities recognized by the Tribhuwan University within or outside Nepal with Physics, Chemistry,Biology and English as main subjects, or Ten Plus Two(10+2) with the principal subjects mentioned above.
The candidate must have secured not less than 50% of marks on the aggregate of above subjects.Candidates other than those mentioned above will not be eligible to apply for the course.

SELECTION CRITERIA:-
The selection of students will be done on the merit basis in the competitive entrance examination conducted by Institute of Medicine(T.U.).

NOTE:
Foreign students need not appear in the entrance exam.They should secure at least 50% aggregate marks(with Physics,Chemistry,English & Biology ).
