Course Description:

The Bachelor of Civil Engineering is designed to produce engineers who are capable of designing, planning and executing construction of infrastructures. Civil Engineering, considered one of the oldest engineering desciplines, encompasses many specialities. The major specialities within civil engineering and structural, water resources, enviromental, construction, transportation and geotechnical engineering.

Career Options:
Spurred by general population growth and an increased emphasis on infrastructure and security, more civil engineers will be needed to design and construct safe and higher capacity transportation, water supply and pollution control systems and large buildings and building complexes. They also will be needed to repair or replace existing roads, bridges and other public structures.

Civil engineers are employed by firms providing architectural, engineering and related services, primarily developing designs for new construction projects. They may also work in consultancy, research and teaching.

Objectives:
> To provide in-depth knowledge in designing and construction of infrastructures such as tunnels, bridges, roads, dams, hydropower and buildings.
> Provide insight about the impact of engineering solutions in a global, ecomonic, enviromental and social context.
> Motivate students for research in recent technologies for future development.
> Develop entrepreneurship skills.

 

Admission info

Eligibility to apply for BE 
The Candidate must have passed +2 Science/A level or Equivalent (with Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics) with minimum 'C' Grade in English, Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics from any recognized academic institution with minimum 45% marks or GPA 2.00. in aggregate.
