Course Description:

The five year Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.) program aims at preparing the students to become competent professional for work in Nepal and abroad, with much emphasis given to the practical and project based learning.

The program being a blend of science and art, the theoretical classes cover a number of courses related to Art, Engineering and Applied Sciences. The Department of Architecture provides complete drawing and design facilities to each student. The students have opportunity to learn and gain competence in both hand drawing studio and CAD keeping them abreast with the modern methodology. The design studio, practicum ( a full semester of practical work with the professionals) and thesis in the final year helps the students in becoming creative independent and competent in

The course intends to produce architects necessary for our present society who are creative, capable of working independently as well as sound in relevant technical know-how as required by the profession. It is envisaged that the architects produced will be engaged as designers and consultants in Architectural conservation, Urban Planning, Urban design, Interior design, Energy consious architects, Energy efficient building design and Development Engineers.

Architecture also includes the programmatic aspects of building and structure realization, such as scheduling, cost estimating, and construction administration. Architecture defines the structure and/or behavior of a building or any other type of system that is to be or has been constructed as documentation produced by architects, typically drawings, plans, and technical specifications.
