Himalayan Institute of Science and Technology (HIST) affiliated to Purbanchal University is located at Gwarko, Lalitpur-17. The college is easily accessible from the Gwarko junction road and is situated alongside with Asian Engineering College.

Established in 2002 (2059 BS), HIST Engineering College is one among the well established and reputed colleges in Nepal. The HIST has been serving as a center of attraction for the prospective students for the Bachelors and Masters programs.

Putting every effort to abide by the norms and guidelines set by the Purbanchal University and Nepal Engineering Council, the HIST Engineering College has been making a steady rise in its overall academic performance.

Objectives
A. To conduct Bachelors and Masters levels of engineering degree courses to produce skilled human resources to fulfill the need for the nations development.
B. To produce quality engineers and managers as highly qualified human resources as per  the international standards.
C.  To establish and promote quality engineering education and, thereby, foster the sound foundation for responsible professionalism in engineering sector.
D. To plan and act continuously for the capacity building of the College towards the goal of making it a Center of Learning and ultimately a deemed Technological University.
