Medical Education commission (MEC) has allocated seats for various undergraduate level programs including MBBS, BDS to medical colleges across the country for the academic year 2077-2078.

Number of Seats in following undergraduate level programs:
MBBS, B.Sc. Nursing, B Per. Tech, BAMS, BASLP, BDS, BNS, BNS (MID), B Opto, BPH, BPharma, BPT, BSC Medical Biochemistry, BSC Medical Microbiology, BSC MIT, BSC MLT

The commission has allocated total 1865 seats to MBBS and 565 seats for BDS for the medical colleges.Furthermore, a total of 1100 seats have been allotted to BSc. Nursing course, 425 seats to BSc. MLT course, 71 seats to BSc. MIT course, 20 seats to BSc. Medical Microbiology, 20 seats to Medical Biochemistry, 150 seats to BPT, 902 seats to B.Pharma, 1420 seats to BPH, 67 seats to B.Optometry, 70 seats to BNS (MID), 1195 seats to BNS, 6 seats to BASLP, 80 seats to BAMS, and a total of 5 seats to Bachelors in Perfusion Technology.

MBBS :
Birat Medical College, Nobel Medical College Teaching Hospital, B.P. Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, National Medical College, College of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital/ CoMS, Chitwan Medical College, Kathmandu Medical College, Nepal Medical College, Maharajgunj Medical campus, Nepalese Army Institute of Health Sciences, KU School of Medical Sciences, KIST Medical College, Manipal College of Medical Sciences, Gandaki Medical College, Nepalgunj Medical College Managed by Lord Buddha Educational Academy, Lumbini Medical College and Teaching Hospital Ltd and Universal College of Medical Sciences & Teaching Hospital (UCMS) were allocated 100 seats each for MBBS. All colleges offering MBBS program except two were allotted this maximum limit for the program. Patan Academy of Health Sciences and Janaki Medical College were allotted 65 and 50 seats respectively. Similarly, Karnali Academy of Health Sciences operating MBBS classes for the first time from this academic session has been allotted 20 seats.

BDS:
B.P. Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Kathmandu Medical College, People's Dental College & Hospital , Kantipur Dental College, KU School of Medical Sciences and Universal College of Medical Sciences and Teaching Hospital (UCMS) were allocated 50 seats each for BDS. Similarly, College of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital/ CoMS, Chitwan Medical College, Nepal Medical College and KIST Medical College were allocated 40 seats each for BDS
