British College (TBC) concluded 3rd International Student Exchange Programme

The British College (TBC), in partnership with Leeds Beckett University (LBU), UK, successfully concluded the 3rd International Student Exchange Programme—a dynamic week-long collaboration (April 19-27) that brought together 16 bright minds from both institutions to tackle pressing global issues through cutting-edge technology.

This year's theme, "IoT & Arduino for Social Impact," challenged students to design real-world solutions for critical problems, including landslides, clean water access, wildlife protection, and deforestation. Working in cross-cultural teams, the students demonstrated how innovation, when fueled by collaboration, can drive meaningful change.

The students developed four groundbreaking prototypes, showcasing the power of technology as a force for good:
- Landslide Detection System - Uses soil sensors to provide early warnings, safeguarding vulnerable communities.
- Smart Water Quality Monitor - Ensures safe drinking water by tracking pH levels in real time.
- NightGuard IoT System - Protects farmers' crops from wildlife using non-harmful, tech-driven deterrents.
- Deforestation Alert App - Combats illegal logging by integrating mobile and sensor technology.

The programme was led by Dr. Pooneh Bagheri Zadeh (LBU) and Dr. Rohit Raj Pandey (TBC), alongside faculty members from the British College. Beyond project development, the exchange explored future collaborations in research, joint teaching, and digital learning innovation.

Reflecting on the program’s success, Dr. Pooneh Bagheri Zadeh shared:

"Watching these students collaborate across cultures and create technology with real purpose has been deeply inspiring. This programme is a powerful reminder that education has no borders—and when we work together, we can solve anything."

Mahendra Raj Kandel- Executive Director at The British College added:
"It's been a truly inspiring visit. The energy and ideas shared between our students and faculty show how much can be achieved when cultures and minds come together. This programme is not just about learning—it's about building a better, smarter world together."

As this year’s programme concludes, The British College celebrates another successful milestone in building global connections, fostering innovation, and empowering students to lead with purpose in a rapidly evolving world.
