Nepal Govt announces two-day weekly holiday; Academic session to begin from April 28
The government has decided to implement a two-day weekend Saturday and Sunday effective from Chaitra 23 (April 6), to help manage the fuel crisis.
According to government spokesperson Sasmit Pokharel, the decision was made during a Cabinet meeting held on Sunday, aiming to reduce fuel consumption.The new arrangement will apply to government offices and educational institutions.
Following the decision, office hours of government institutions have also been revised to 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. However, the revised working hours will not apply to educational institutions.
Academic session to begin from April 28 (Baisakh 15)
The academic session is scheduled to begin from April 28 (Baisakh 15). A Cabinet meeting held on Sunday made the decision to this effect, Minister for Education and government spokesperson Sasmit Pokharel said.
Earlier, the academic session used to start from April 15.
