Nepal Engineering Council result of Engineer Licensing Exam
The Nepal Engineering Council (NEC) has conducted its first-ever engineering license exam to allow engineers to register and work professionally in Nepal. Out of a total of 1981 examinees, only 565 or some 28.5 percent have passed the engineer’s license examination.
On Tuesday, chairman of Nepal Engineering Council, Padam Shahi held a press conference and said that only 28.5 percent students have passed the exam. For the first time, Nepal Engineering Council has started conducting licensure examinations for the registration of engineer professionals. The Council said that those who do not pass the exams will not get the council's certificate and will not be able to work as engineers in Nepal.
As per council, engineers who have passed the engineer’s license examination have to register themselves with the Council to work as a professional engineer.Previously, the Council did not conduct such exams for engineering students. The engineers would start working without taking such examinations, after receiving a license from the Council, on the basis of their academic certificates from the university concerned. The exams were held in 20 categories related to engineering.
The registration Examination was held during 12-13 Chaitra 2079 BS at Pulchowk Engineering Campus.
