Almost all the community schools across the country are closed on Friday, demanding permanent status to the teachers appointed on temporary basis.

Stating that vacancy announcement made by the Education Ministry, Teachers´ Service Commission last January is aimed at terminating them, the Temporary Teachers´ Struggle Committee-2069 BS staged a sit-in protest in front of all the District Education Offices across the country.

The agitating teachers have demanded that they should be made permanent through a due process and any discriminations against them be ended.

We need job guarantee through equal internal process and would continue protests until our voices are addressed, Committee Chairperson Ramchandra Adhikari said, warning of intensifying the protest if their demands go unheard.
