Course Description:

Pokhara University's Master of Science in Structural Engineering program is a two-year, full-time graduate program designed to provide students with an in-depth understanding of structural engineering concepts and practices. The program seeks to improve students' technical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities so that they can design and analyze structures for a variety of applications.

Objectives:
The structural engineering graduates are capable to
> analyze and design different types of structural forms and materials;
> independently planning and implementation tasks at professional level in structural engineering including the use of appropriate software;
> conduct independent research in topics related to structural engineering.

Students who complete the program will be able to design and analyze structures using the most up-to-date software tools and techniques. They will have a thorough understanding of structural engineering principles and will be able to apply this knowledge to real-world problems. Graduates will also be able to work effectively in groups and clearly communicate their ideas.

Admission info

Eligibility
The candidates with bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or equivalent along with a minimum of 16 years of formal education (12 years of schooling plus four years of undergraduate studies). The applicants must have secured a minimum CGPA of 2.0/ minimum second division or equivalent at the Bachelor’s level.

Syllabus

Advanced structural analysis, earthquake engineering, concrete and steel design, bridge engineering, and computer-aided design are among the topics covered in the program. The curriculum is intended to provide students with a solid foundation in structural engineering theory and practice.
