Course Description:

MSc Zoology, a four-year course of Tribhuvan University, aims to impart quality education in zoology as a basic science and develop technical skills such as bio informatics, statistics and technology. The course is designed to provide students with in-depth knowledge and practical skills in zoology.

The program covers various subjects, including animal diversity, evolution, physiology, behavior, ecology, conservation biology, entomology, fish biology, parasitology, and more. Its curriculum is designed to give students a comprehensive understanding of zoology's various aspects.

Admission info

Eligibility
The eligibility criterion for admission in M.Sc in Zoology is B.Sc. zoology or an equivalent degree from recognized universities.

Syllabus

The course is 2-year & 4-semester course with a compulsory dissertation. Each semester is of six month duration. As per the new curriculum, first semester fully deal with core courses and second semester deal both with core courses and specialization courses. The student need to select specialization courses in the second semester from four specializations courses available at the department (Ecology & Environment, Entomology, Parasitology and Fish Biology & Aqua culture).Very soon another specialization course Genomics & Molecular Biology will be introduced. The fourth semester is fully dedicated to the dissertation work.
