Course Description:

Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Gender Studies is a four year program of Tribhuvan University which aims to enable the Bachelor of Arts degree holders to become development professionals and advocates of gender equality. The course is offered to make students academically eligible with the concepts, theories and practices of gender in development.

Students study key terms and debates in gender studies. Topics include social construction of gender, intersectionality, division of labor, and public versus private spheres. Short assignments ask you to define terms, contrast viewpoints, and connect ideas to Nepal’s contexts through brief examples.
