Course Description:

B.Sc.(PB) Nursing consists of 108 Credits within the duration of 3 to 5 years. The programme consists of 40 credit theory and 68 credits practical sessions. Learners receive the following aids.

• Printed Practical manuals provide the basic guidelines to the program. These guidelines enable the learners to study and practice the skills/experiments when placed in the practical experience/ work. 
• Audio-video materials have been prepared for each course. They are supplementary to the print material. Video programmes are aired by Doordarshan on the National Network every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 6.25 am to 6.55 am.
• Counselling sessions are organised for all courses of study. Six counselling sessions of 2 hours duration each is provided for the 4 credit courses. Unlike the classroom lectures, counselling sessions are meant to solve problems and consult the counsellor for clarifications.
• Practical sessions have been designed to improve the skills, qualities, knowledge and competencies of the learners alone with theory education. Throughout the programme, the learners practice as a nurse in a hospital and the community.
• Clinical supervision is assigned to a group of 7 to 10 learners in clinical settings. The clinical supervisor provides support, guidance, Supervises, monitors and assess as a learner’s progress. Eventually the Clinical supervisor evaluates the assignment. Clinical supervisors ensure that each student has gained the required clinical experience for every course in this programme.
