Course Description:

The Diploma in Agriculture (Intermediate in Science in Agriculture) major in animal Science course is of 3 years duration.

Aim:
Produce competent mid-level human resources equipped with sufficient knowledge and skills in agriculture, basic veterinary Science, animal husbandry and related subjects

Admission info

Eligibility
Secured at least grade C in any two subjects i.e. Compulsory Mathematics, Compulsory Science or English and D+ in the remaining subject in Secondary Education Examination(SEE) from recognized academic institution.

Syllabus

The first year of study covers math, languages, and basic sciences. These subjects serve as a foundation for study in later years and as a prerequisite for bachelor's level study in related fields.

Secon Year courses are of mixed types; they include some specialized courses in animal sciences like Animal Nutrition and Fodder Production, Sheep and Goat production, Animal Health I (clinical medicine), Animal Housing and Environmental Sciences, and some common courses related to agriculture like Extension and Community Development, Elementary Statistics and basic Computer Sciences, Agribusiness Management and Marketing, Aquaculture, and Introductory Plant Science.

The third-year curriculum includes courses on animal husbandry and veterinary sciences such as Veterinary Clinical Practice, Equine, Rabbit, and Pets, Commercial Dairy Farming, Dairy and Animal Product Technology, Commercial Poultry Production, Veterinary Laboratory Techniques, and Animal Health II (preventive veterinary medicine) (WEP).
