Course Description:

The BA LL.B. program at Purbanchal University is a 5-year undergraduate degree designed for students who wish to pursue a career in law and legal services. The curriculum is structured to provide a strong foundation in legal theory, social sciences, humanities and related fields offering a holistic education that prepares students for diverse legal careers.The course is designed to relate the study of law with a wide range of professional fields, social sciences, and technology. BALLB degree provides students with a blend of knowledge in both the liberal arts and legal fields. 

The course provides broad knowledge on the content of national law, international law, business and real estate law, family law, human rights law, and political law, along with interdisciplinary social science fields.

The course aims to develop adequate analytical power and critical thinking among students. The program integrates the study of law with core subjects in the arts, such as political science, history, sociology, economics, and more, enabling students to understand the interdisciplinary nature of law and its practical application.

The BA LLB prepares graduates to find employment opportunities in an array of areas including government organization, private firms, corporative and non-government agencies in a wide range of fields of law, such as  industrial, taxation, criminal, environmental, property, business and commercial law.

Admission info

Eligibility Criteria:
- Candidates must have completed 10+2 or an equivalent (A-levels, Intermediate, etc.) from a recognized board with a minimum 2.0 GPA. The is no age limit to apply for admission in BALLB Program.
- Admission is based on an entrance exam, including a written test, group discussion, and/or personal interview.

Syllabus

BA LL.B. is a five-year course which comprises studies on wide variety of areas of law. The course intends to generate proficient lawyers with adequate analytical power and critical thinking.

In the initial years, the first and second years, students are familiarized with the basic principles of political science, economics, sociology, and management, and their significance in law is demonstrated. Besides, in these years, fundamental principles and concepts of law, legislative principles, and theories of criminal and procedural laws are discussed. In the third year, students are exposed to advanced theories and principles of law, such as trial advocacy, ethics, constitutionalism, etc. In the fourth and fifth years, the course intends to generate specialized knowledge in different domains of legal science.

BA LL.B. students can choose one of the four areas of specialization from the fourth year and therefore can pursue a specialized law degree.

1. Criminal Law and Criminology,
2. International Trade and Business Law,
3. Constitutional Law
4. Environment and Development Law
