Course Description:

The Bachelor of Fashion Design (BFD) program is a 3 years (six semesters) academic course in Fashion Designing. This course is a combination of basic science, art and technology.

Since textile science and textile designing are the major parts of fashion designing, the term science will always be prominent. Similarly, having an artistic insight is a must for becoming a good fashion designer since every fashion illustrations should possess innovative ideas in design creation.

Similarly, as the present day world relies on different technologies, fashion designing also implies modern technological equipments and other technology related products and ideas. For example; computerized designing using CAD and the use of other digitizing equipments, modern stitching and embroidery machines, use of the internet and other sophisticated tools of textile design and production, etc.

The highlight of the BFD course is its 16 week Graduate Project Fashion Show where students design their own collections for the event. The designs will be based on the knowledge acquired during the whole semester and in different subjects. The students are emphasized to design their own collection manually or through Computer Aided Designing.

ADMISSION CRITERIA AND ELIGIBILITY
Prospective students must have passed their Intermediate examination from any recognized board or university or equivalent to 10+2 exams having no less than 35% of score. There is no stream bar for joining BFD.

Potential Intake
Students having completed 10+2 or any equivalent examination in any faculty/stream from any College and university recognized by Purbanchal University are eligible to apply for the 3 years Bachelor of Fashion Design (BFD) Program.

Application Procedure
An eligible candidate applying for of the program at Namuna College of Fashion Technology should pass through the following steps:

Documents required at the time of applying for the program

Completed and signed application form,
Two recent passport size photographs, and
Official transcripts from all the academic institutions attended (SLC onwards).

Entrance (Aptitude) test
Applicants are required to pass the Entrance (aptitude) test administered by the College in the following subject areas:
