Course Description:

Civil engineering is a professional discipline that deals with the planning, design, construction and maintenance of physical and natural environments. It involves construction and maintenance works of physical infrastructures, bridges, roads, canals, dams, buildings, urban planning etc. Civil Engineering is constantly evolving with the advent of technology and new materials. It has led to significant improvements in the understanding of how structures behave and economy varies in construction.

Job Prospects
Civil Engineers are responsible for the planning, designing, construction and maintenance of infrastructures like roads, bridges, tunnels, houses, offices, shopping and residential complexes, water and sanitation systems and others. They excel in engineering practice in the public and private sectors in the technical areas of environmental, geo-technical, structural, transportation, and water resources engineering.

Graduates are fully prepared to enter professional practice or pursue advanced degrees.

Civil engineer can work in any of the areas suggested for:
> Design and development firms
> Government/Non-Government agencies and their contractors
> Engineering consultancies, specializing in private, residential, commercial and industrial buildings
> Developments, water and flood management, road infrastructure or project management

Admission info

Eligibility
> The students who have a minimum score of 45% in I. Sc. or 10+2 (physical group or biological group with two paper mathematics) or diploma in engineering or an equivalent course recognised by MWU can appear in the entrance examination conducted by Mid-Western University, Faculty of Engineering.
> The students who have passed the entrance examination conducted by FOE are eligible for admission in Central Campus of Engineering  on merit basis.
