Course Description:

The Bachelor of Pharmacy of Purbanchal University is a four year program. The program aims to prepare pharmacist professionals with the highest possible technical and managerial competence in area of pharmaceutical science and technology, research, and care and services. The graduates will have the opportunity to equip themselves for their role in various pharmacy disciplines - public health, community, hospital and clinical, industries, academia, logistics and supply, care and services, information dissemination, and regulation at different levels. Purvanchal University is committed to providing quality pharmacy education to our students by involving qualified, motivated and experienced faculty throughout class, bench and field teaching and in building required technical and managerial competencies in them. The strengths at Purvanchal University are the enjoyment of teaching and learning environment, extracurricular involvement, hands-on and problem-based approach in inculcating professional values in students.

In recent times, there is a great demand for quality pharmacy personnel in some of the above mentioned specialties. Along with growth in number of pharmacy professionals, more opportunities in other specialties particularly the hospital and clinical pharmacy is gradually opening up. These are the areas of focus for this decade. Integration of the approach of pharmaceutical care and service in health care delivery at all level in public and private has been a promising opportunity for pharmacy professionals. Future pharmacists will have to position themselves for greater responsibility in delivering a balanced and complete health care product matching the changing requirements of the society.

The graduates can get easily access for further career development education in foreign universities. The graduates have job opportunities in government, national and international non-government organizations, pharmaceutical company as a production officer, quality control officer, hospital pharmacist, community pharmacist and teaching faculty in educational institutions. Apart this as a self employment, the graduates can develop their own business entrepreneurship related to pharmacy.

Admission criteria

Candidates must have completed ten plus two or certificate in science or pharmacy or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, English, Biology and / or Mathematics as main subjects and should have secured a minimum of 50 % marks in aggregate.
Candidates must be physically and mentally fit.
Candidates must have completed 17 years of age.
Candidates must pass the entrance examination of Purbanchal University.

Requirement for admission

Attested copies of character certificates and mark-sheets of SLC and plus 2 or PCL or equivalent.
Equivalence certificate if the candidate has certificates from boards or Universities outside Nepal
