Course Description:

The Bachelor of Business Administration  Finance - BBA (Finance) program of Pokhara University is a four-year program spread over 8 semesters.  The coursre aims to provide sound knowledge base, conceptual understanding and skills in the area of business and management with specific focus on finance, banking, insurance, investment and capital markets.

Students are required to enroll in 5 courses every semester. Each course has a minimum of about 48 contact hours.

A student needs to complete course work, project work and internship to graduate. Project Work involves field work and empirical analysis of the information collected from the field. The students are also required to prepare a project report in a prescribed format. Internship lasts for a period of six to eight weeks and is schedule during the sixth semester

BBA(Finance) graduates will have a solid understanding of business management, specialized knowledge in corporate finance, banking, insurance, investment, and capital markets, and be familiar with business contexts in Nepal and beyond.

They will possess strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, proficiency in using electronic media and computers for organizational solutions, the ability to work independently and in teams, and an awareness of environmental, social, and ethical factors affecting business decisions.

Academic Qualification:
+2 (NEB) or Proficiency Certificate Level or equivalent recognized by Pokhara University.
Applicants must have a minimum CGPA of 1.8 (At least D in each subject).
Student needs at least 45% in the university's percentage grading system.

Syllabus

First Year: Laying the Financial Groundwork
- 1st and 2nd Semester
- Introduce fundamental finance concepts and foster community through foundational courses and finance club activities.

Second Year: Building Financial Acumen
- 3rd and 4th Semester
- Enhance practical finance skills and industry exposure through internships, financial modeling, and case studies.

Third Year: Advancing Financial Expertise
- 5th and 6th Semester
- Integrate financial knowledge and develop professional skills through advanced finance courses and leadership roles in finance clubs.

Fourt Year: Mastering Finance and Career Preparation
- 7th and 8th Semester
- Focus on financial specialization and career readiness through capstone projects, finance-specific career workshops, and guaranteed placements.

Concentration and Elective Courses
- Concentration/Specialization (Any three courses from any one major area and any two courses from any remaining one minor area; total 5 courses) (15 Credit Hours).
