The International School of Advanced Studies (ISAS) was founded in 2009 in Kathmandu, Nepal, by a ‎team of professionals and development workers, working for national and international agencies in the fields of international cooperation, development and research. All the members were led by the common view to train professionals in the field ‎of development cooperation and socio-economic development.

Since its inception, ISAS has matured a sound experience in organizing and teaching short term training courses, such as courses on Micro Enterprises Development (MED) and results based Project Planning and Management (PPM).

It has also organized three editions of an international summer school on food security and climate change, always in collaboration with the University of Pavia, and other organizations working in Nepal. In the past years, the School has proved good networking ‎and sound collaboration with university colleges, INGOs working in Nepal, research and academic institutions, as well as government ministries and departments.
