Nepal College of Development Studies (NCDS), initiated in 2007 and affiliated to Tribhuvan University, is a dynamic institution on social work that produces leaders committed to promote change, respect dignity of each individual, principled and adhere to the values and ethics of social work. The college offers Bachelors of Arts in Social Work and Rural Development (BASWRD). This combination is designed to meet the need of development community for trained human resources. The course has been designed to enhance knowledge and skills required of professionals in the changing context of development sector. 

The curriculum is enriched with the extra-curricular activities like rural camps, community engagement and extended internships.The College strives to promote Social Work through collaborative projects ranging from rural villages in Nepal to international conferences. 

 

NCDS through its faculty join hands at different levels to enhance the capacity and academic excellence. It has working relations and associations with the universities, academicians, associations to exchange knowledge and experiences. The college provides excellent learning platform to the students perusing skills and knowledge in social work through various innovations.  

 

NCDS is managed by team of professional social workers of Nepal School of Social Work, which was initiated in 2005 as an informal school to guide on social work education to emerging social work colleges in Nepal and formally registered as non for profit organization on 2018.  Nepal School of Social Work thrives to create learning environment for students, faculties and staffs through various methods such as research, need based training to students and faculties, seminar, conference, publication for promoting and ensuring quality of social work education.
