Durbar High School, also known as Bhanu Secondary School, holds the distinction of being Nepal's oldest modern educational institution.Established in 1854, it is the first formal school of Nepal. Located right in front of Ranipokhari, Kathmandu, previously it taught only members of the ruling family, but was opened to private citizens in 1902.
