The University of Nepal (UNepal) is a research oriented, multidisciplinary, autonomous public university established by the University of Nepal Act 2024 ratified by the Federal Parliament of Nepal.

UNepal aims to produce competent graduates equipped with knowledge, skills, creative and critical thinking abilities, inspiring them to make a strong commitment to social transformation and nation-building. The university also seeks to serve as a catalyst to bring reform to Nepal's higher education system by forging a new path for Nepali universities.

The defining characteristics of UNepal include, among others, independent governance through a Board of Trustees, disciplinary specialization combined with interdisciplinary exposure via a robust curriculum based on Liberal Arts and Sciences philosophy, highly qualified faculty, innovative pedagogy, and a dynamic and conducive academic ecosystem that connects to real-world challenges through community partnerships UNepal intends to establish itself as a center of excellence in Nepal's higher education landscape.
