Karnali Academy of Health Sciences (KAHS) was established on October 20, 2011 (2068/07/03) by an Act of Parliament of Nepal, by upgrading the existing Karnali Zonal Hospital in Jumla.
The goal of KAHS is to provide affordable access to quality healthcare and education for people living in backward areas by establishing a health institute in Jumla and a KAHS working district to produce skilled health professionals capable of providing quality health care services and conducting health research.
