Capital University is a private liberal arts university of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America located in Bexley, Ohio, founded in 1830. In addition to its rigorous liberal arts program, the university also offers a reputable adult degree program in Columbus, Ohio. In recent years, four out of five undergraduate international students have received scholarships. The average award has been about 30-40% of tuition. Scholarships are renewable from year to year as long as students maintain the required minimum grade point average. Scholarships are awarded primarily on the basis of superior prior academic or school performance. Financial need is a secondary consideration.
Students who wish to be considered for a scholarship must submit the application form along with the two essays described below, the Undergraduate Application form, and all other admission requirements. There is no deadline for partial scholarships, however scholarship funds are limited and early submissions have a better chance receiving an award.
The primary criterion for scholarship awards is academic performance and potential for academic success. Financial need is secondary.
International scholarships are awarded to students in non-immigrant status. U.S. citizens or permanent residents are not eligible to apply for international scholarships. Scholarships are applied as a reduction of tuition each semester and are automatically renewed each year for students who maintain a 2.25 GPA or higher. Students are still responsible for the remainder of their expenses including tuition, fees, room & board, and other study and living expenses.
There is no deadline but applicants are encouraged to apply early while the maximum numbers of scholarships are still available.
Fall classes begin – August 27, 2012
