DFID, the Department for International Development, is part of the UK Government that manages Britain’s aid to poor countries. DFID Nepal is seeking to recruit suitably qualified and experienced Nepalese candidates for the below position.

1 year Fixed Term Position:  Band B1 – Programme Officer (SAIC) 
DFID Nepal is looking for an able and energetic person to join the Post-Earthquake Reconstruction Team to support effective implementation of the on-going programme. Working with the Team Leader, Programme Management colleagues, Senior Responsible Officers/project leads as well as the Field Office team, the successful person will have significant opportunities to lead on improving and contributing to the overall management.

Required qualifications/ skills:
> Bachelor’s degree/or a similar level Qualification in a relevant discipline (for example Business Administration Programme Management, Development Studies, Administration and Planning)
> At least 3 years’ of relevant experience

> DFID is looking for a candidate that can work independently, shape their own portfolio of work, and deliver with a minimum of supervision
> Good IT skills, with good knowledge of Microsoft Office programmes.
> Strong English communication skills are required for the role and will be tested at interview.

The starting gross monthly salary for this position will be Nepalese rupees 146,178 per month (subject to local income tax deduction).
