ADRA works in 135 countries around the world and is working in Nepal since 1987 with its Health interventions, Economic Development and Livelihood,Education, and Disaster Risk Management activities.

ADRA Nepal is seekingexperienced professionals to work for upcoming DFID NepalUrban Resilience Project (NURP),the positions are subject to hire upon project approval. Basically, the NURPwill be focusing in strengthening local government to implement more disaster resilient urban building, planning, infrastructure and services; and supporting national level government to develop, implement and monitor policy on urban disaster resilience.

The NURP will serve public stakeholders charged with implementing urban resilience in Nepal – Government of Nepal’s line ministries, National Reconstruction Authority and National Planning Commission at the national level; Provincial Government Ministries and Municipalities and Sub-metropolitan cities at the local level.

1.Team Leader:
Qualification and Competencies:
Master’s degree in a relevant field especially in International Development, Urban Planning, Engineering, climate smart disaster resilience, urban resilience etc.Expertise in leadership and program management, with at least 10 years of experience and progressive responsibility managing donor initiatives, working experience with DFID would be an additional asset.Demonstrated skills and experience managing complex development programmes of a similar size and complexities.At least 10 years of relevant experience in the fields of disaster resilience and urban planning.

2.Urban Expert:
Qualification and Competencies:
Master’s Degree in Urban Planning, Urban Development, Civil Engineering, Disaster Risk Reduction/ Management or equivalent
At least seven years working experience in similar field. Excellent working knowledge in urban planning and development. Working experience in development field and donor funded projects is preferred, mainly the DFID.

3.MEAL Advisor:
Qualification and Competencies:
Masters in a relevant subject or equivalent. At least seven years significant experience and familiarity with MEAL in DRR context including MEAL leadership. Experience in data collection and community participation and accountability, conducting and coordinating assessments.Demonstrated strong monitoring and evaluation skills, including planning/participating in evaluations.Ability to work both in an advisory and a hands-on implementation capacity.Ability to facilitate/conduct large technical trainings for staff.Experience of representation and ability to represent ADRA effectively in external forums.

4.GESI & Governance Advisor:
Qualification and Competencies:
Masters in good governance and GESI or equivalent. The Governance and GESI Advisor will lead the Local governance, Gender Mainstreaming and Social Inclusion Component of the project and will support all the members in the consortium as well their implementing partners at the strategic and technical level on the same;
S/he should have more than 7 years of experience working in the governance and GESI sector preferably on the institutional donor funded projects.

5.Resilience Infrastructure Advisor:
Qualification and Competencies:
Master’s degree in Engineering Preferably Urban Planning/Structure. A minimum of seven years’ experience in managing and supervision of infrastructure development projects considering multi-hazards disaster. Strong technical knowledge and skill of designing and monitoring of resilient infrastructure projects. Demonstrated training design on resilient infrastructure.Strong facilitation skill.
Strong experience working with consortium partner/NGO. Demonstrated analytical report writing and communication skills. Good written and verbal communications in English and Nepali language. Excellent skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and internet browsers. Ability to travel frequently in project sites. Very good facilitation and coordination skill.

6. Finance Manager:
Qualification and Competencies:
Master’s in financial management and equivalent.At least seven years working experience in INGO field. CA will be added advantage. Excellent working knowledge of software accounting systems and procedures. Working experience in grants, budgeting, and compliance in development   field and donor funded projects is preferred.
