In this 2151 century as there is globalization in the world, Multicultural Education (MCE) is reality today. It is about the diversity. The issue inclusiveness of diversity is being raised in every part of society, in politics, in beurocracy, in policy level and in education too. A class where diverse can be obtained according to Skin color, Religion, Language, Geography, Economic status, Mind Level. Life style, Political biasness Culture (music, dance, local festivals, unique art, typical ornaments, unique dresses), Race Ethnicity, Tradition is called , multicultural class. In this classroom there are many students who belong to multi-cultural multi-ethnic, multi-linguistic refugees, migrants, and immigrant: and others. In our country, most of the classroom of schools, that may be in rural or in urban areas, are found multicultural They all don't have same Language, religion, culture, social rituals and beliefs Multiculturalism is the modern philosophy that helps to empower the deprived marginalized people, women and ethnic people by allowing bringing their cultural practice and experiences. As education is very important part of society which mold it towards civilization and well educated. So this multiculturalism is necessary today. But there are many opportunities as well as challenges in the MCE.


There are many challenges in the multicultural education. It takes long time to adjust among the people. There are chances biasness by narrower teacher and administrator. Many Students have difficulty in group or cooperative learning. But there are many more merits like multicultural education promotes the rights of all people, no matter their sexual orientation, gender, ethnicity, race, and socio-economic status. It helps to make good relationships among teachers, administrators, students, and the community. In this system (MCE) students are encouraged to develop their skills in critical thinking and analysis that can be applied to all areas of life. Similarly it is helpful for developing work in groups, sharing tasks, respecting the decisions of others. Even for the teachers and institute also it is beneficial for their further development. lt helps to fulfill the different aims and objectives of the people. Since the modem society is dominated by technology, profoundly affected by globalization, and in which the greatest priority is the pursuit of peace so MCE is essential.1t em¬powers the person. It serves as a gatekeeper for people to participate in the decision making pro¬cess of society.


In MCE ideas are brought from   different. We have to cross the border then only ideas will be shared. In this system it is easy to solve inferiority and superiority complex by showing different examples. It also reduces the gap between cultures. We can conduct different exhibition with collaboration with different subjects. Though the change will come slowly but it is essential today. These things we have to start from class room then only then nation will get a good citizen. Inside a class room, a teacher is considered as most faithful character. Similarly inside the institute the administrators are consider as most faithful characters. Teachers and administrator must play proper and positive role. It develops multiple ways of thinking to analyze anything critically by different angles and many more. A class will be multicultural due to different perspective like value norms, political biasness, color, geography, occupation history, religion, ethnical tat and many more. So, no discrimination should be created according to different cultures. Main strategy can be implemented in class room is valuing others cultures by project related to that, assessment. operative learning and man more. Many strategies like speeding students from dive culture, valuing their contributions to the classes, making them to take part in the different activities etc can be applied. Similarly, if in our classroom there are different groups we can call specialist of that grow one by one in different time a, guest speaker. Various techniques can be applied like lectures discussion, presentation by students, students involving project work, story telling et according to different culture practices. Opportunities can’t provided for all students to share their own cultural experience They should be taught to think critically and tolerance should be generated so that r dominancy occurs. An emotion of 'our classroom’ and ‘my society'. More and more cooperative learning should be preferred


Challenges of Multicultural Education

Races: The discrimination on education because of color, profession, value, belief, social, status is a kind of racism and is prevailing in Nepalese society.

Gender: Nepal is also traditionally male dominated country. In most of the society, gender biasness is seen in every sector and stage of life. They are not allowed to select profession, and not allowed to take decision about their future too. Girls have been discriminated in terms of providing opportunity to education.
Ethnic groups: An ethnic group or ethnicity is a population of human beings whose members identify with each other, usually on the basis of presumed common  genealogy or ancestry. Ethinic groups are often united by common cultural, behavioral, linguistic, ritualistic, or religious characters.


Bilingual people:
There are many people who speak two languages. People of some certain location who have their own lan¬guage except Nepali but they have to use Nepali language while reading, writing and for of¬ficial purpose. Nepali is the second language for them who have their own mother tongue. Lingual discrimination directly effects the learning achievement of student. Generally we use Nepali language in education in public school but the student belongs to different lingual group. It has compelled them to learn Nepali. It has caused the low performance of the bilingual students and another most dangerous impact is other languages are slowly diminishing. Language is directly linked with cultural practice. Language is one of the barriers of cultural inclusiveness in classroom. The examples and incidents explained in text books are always valuing one culture. That is why nowadays people are raising the issue that there must be available the different 1 text books according to their r mother tong. Though in the context of Nepal CDC (Curriculum Development Centre) has design the different courses but they are not in the practice. Few Lingual subjects only implementing in the few places in our country.


Religion: Nepal is diverse country from the perspective of religion. Although it was Hindu kingdom for long time, there were several people who believe in other religions. But after agitation 2063 the eight (later seven) parties' government has declared Nepal as secular country. Some times in our country also we are facing the problems on the fight between two differ¬ent religions.


Deprived people:
People who have not any access to education and arc biased and dominated by mainstream culture can be defined as deprived people. They belong to income less or low income group. Their first essence is food, cloth, and shelter then after they will think about education. That's why they are often excluded by education, opportunities and minimum chances to access in prestige, power and property. Street chil¬dren, home less or people who belongs to remote part of country without any opportunity for personal development are deprived people. Migrated people, in many countries, after first and Second World War, people started to migrate from one t country to another country. t Refugees, vietin1s of war arc also t migrated from here to there. So, t in many countries society became multicultural and multilingual. Its direct in1pact has been c seen in school. In the context of our country Nepal there is the trend of migration from hilly region to Madhes and valley is increasing. People are migrating from one place to another, even from one country to another searching means of livelihood, further opportunities for education, job etc or for better and standard life.
Technical problems : It is difficult to manage the different cultural ideas in a classroom. There are not sufficient educational materials and trained teachers.

Opportunities of Multicultural Education:
Multiculturalism has many opportunities also. All the above challenges can be converting as opportunities. Every person is getting equal opportunity to develop his/ her inner talent without discrimination of gender, race, caste, language, poverty etc. It is the best way to value diversity and multicultural rather than to oppress from the view of social justice and human right. Students as well as teacher can learn more in multicultural classroom than in mono cultural classroom. For teacher and students, it will be easier to do research on different field. Oppressive policies and racial domination in social, political and economic sector will be minimizing. Fundamental right of a people will be there in the MCE. Every people can be empowered by education and they can enjoy their life with dignity, practice their culture proudly and speak their language confidently. For this, multiculturalism is the prac¬tice which develops the coopera¬tive and collaborative habits in students later they play significant role to change the society.


Multiculturalism in Classroom:
School is such a platform where the students from every culture, g caste, gender, races have to learn g together and to be participated e in collaborative works and n projects. We find students with different ability mentally and physically. Some students belong to rich family where as Ii some to poor family. Some of , them may not have their parents n too. They all or some of them may have different religions because of, norms, culture and social practices. Except these, there emerges diversity in race, gender, caste, occupation, social status, color, region etc. In such heterogeneity, teaching is not a e simple task. A teacher should value all of them equally. It is challenging for teacher to deal with different language, different culture, and with students of a different ability. There must be such kind of practice in which g all the students get equal opportunity to explore their talent.
Except exceptional cases even e educational people do not try to e change the dominating culture against deprived, marginalized, bilingual and low caste people. So, even if the government tries to value marginalized, deprived and ethnic people equally and include them in education, the traditional social narrowness, and barriers is a great challenge for them. Still, some people are not v allowed to touch, sit together and p share their food with another so s' called high caste people. We easily can imagine how their children achieve education. Multicultural Education is only d a single weapon that can bring of such social disorder and dirty c practice in proper track.


Conclusion:

There are different ethnic/castes, religions group in Nepal but they are not equally valued by governments as well as different groups. Due to Jack of proper education and proper adjustment many conflicts are arises. Though there different group in Nepal but powers are not shared equally. Power is limited to only limited group which arises dif-ferent conflicts either in the name of Maoist Andolan, Madhesi Andolan, lanajati Adibasi Andolan, DalitAndolan, Chure Bhabar Andolan Limbuwan Khumubuwan Andolan and many more. Efforts of Government are not sufficient. We must create 'our ness' environment instead of 'own ness'. We must start these types of practices from class room it-self. Role of teacher should bc to change the traditional believes and to improve the image of education. Every culture, ethnic group, minorities and marginalized people, should he equally participated and empow¬ered. As the world is changing every day, we must learn to ac¬cept meaningful MCE. Curriculum should be design according the social need and should be in¬clusive. No discrimination should be created according to different cultures and other rea¬sons. The main strategy can be implemented in class room is valuing others cultures by project work related to that, as¬sessment, cooperative learning and many more. By which an education make a beautiful gar¬den of different of flowers pro¬ducing various smells will be formed. An inclusive and demo¬cratic nation will be formed if such strategies are implemented.
