BIM(Bachelor in Information Management) is a four-year bachelor's degree programme divided into eight semesters and 126 credit hours. It provides an interdisciplinary educational approach to students interested in the applied form of information and communication technology. BIM graduates gain knowledge and skills to develop business information systems, analyze and design databases, develop networks and internet applications and build business process plans through the use of information technology. 
The BIM program is designed to equip graduates with the skills and attributes required to be effective and efficient information technology professionals. It is a functional programme entrusted with effective management of technology in business areas. It is a nice blend of management and technology with 60 percent of the course content emphasizing computer programming languages along with computer hardware. The remaining 40 percent is based on management and social sciences including sociology, psychology and economics. The pragmatic mix of technology and management is said to be the major pull factor of the BIM course.

The specific objectives of the program are to:
> Prepare IT professionals proficient in the use of computers and computational techniques in order to develop effective information systems to solve real life problems in the organizational milieu.
> Develop students' skill in object-oriented software design methods and data management systems.
> Provide professional training to students by combining information technology with managerial skills.
> Prepare students to proceed on to post graduate level study in information management within and outside the country.
Tribhuvan University (TU) has been offering this programme under the Faculty of Management since 2000 from various colleges. Some of them are  Prime College ,Kantipur College of Management and Information Technology (KCMIT), Nagarjuna College of Information Technology (NCIT), College of Applied Business (CAB), National College of Computer Studies (NCCS) and St. Xavier's College.
Students from any academic discipline having completed twelve-year schooling or equivalent from any University, Board or Institution recognized by Tribhuvan University can apply for this programme. Students need to pass CMAT, an entrance test taken by TU, to get admission in BIM. 
.BIM graduates are well acquainted with information systems, programming languages, system analysis and networking along with management know-how.  Graduates can go on to apply for various postgraduate degrees and can transfer their credits to foreign universities as the programme is accredited by many international universities. Graduates can find jobs in banks, finance and insurance companies, transportation network system and software companies.
Course fees range from Rs. 200,000 to Rs. 330,000. Upon completion of the course, graduates can earn a minimum monthly salary of Rs. 10,000.
