SEE exam begins today (28 March 2024)
Today marks the start of this year's Secondary Education Examination (SEE). The exam will continue until April 9.On the first day of the exam, examinees take the compulsory English subject examination. The exam began at 8 a.m. and will end at 11 a.m.

A total of 504,414  examinees have registered for the exam. This includes 250,772 female students, 253,627 male students, and 15 students from sexual and gender minorities attending 10,806 public and private schools.

Overall, 2,064 exam centers have been set up for the exam, with the highest in Kathmandu at 127 and the lowest in Manang and Mustang districts at one each.

Meanwhile, one exam centre has been set up in Japan where 23 students are expected to sit for the exam.A total of 77,485 human resources have been mobilized directly to ensure the exam runs smoothly.

Beginning this year, students must score at least 35% in theory and 40% in practical exams. This differs from previous SEE exams, which required a score of 35 percent in both theoretical and practical examinations.

To be admitted to class 11, students must score at least 35%. Those who fall short will be given the opportunity to take supplementary exams.
